Dudenrode/Brief
Dear Mr. Philip Morgan
Mr. Bernhard Waldmann asked me for some details according to your mail. As I lived at Dudenrode since my birth in 1946 until Iwas 25, I knew Mr. Gustav Mueller very well.
So I proposed to answer your mail.
Unfortunately Gustav Mueller died several years ago. The house, you found in Genwiki Dudenrode, ist the same house where Gustav Mueller lived with his wife Erna. The attached picture shows the marriage of Gutav and Erna. The girl, you see on the picture in front of Gustav and Erna is Erna’s daughter Emmi. Emmi and me, we were class mates. Now, Emmi and her family are still living in that house.
Gustav and Erna had another doughter Marianne. I don’t know, where she lives now, but if you are interested , I will find it out. Gustav was a very sympathetic man who was liked by everybody. He had a black smith forge of his own and still worked there after retiring.
When I visited a secondary technical school, I also learned English. I was suprised, that Gustav spoke English too. Smiling at me, he answered, that he also had visited that school, but that was a joke. Later on we found out, that he had learned it during his stay in England as a prisoner of war.
Hope, fort he first time, I could give you some information that I could remenber, without further resaerch. When I will visit my home village next time, I will visit my classmate Emmi for more information.
Best regards Kurt Hennemuth
