Garnison und Unterstellung 1914

• Unterstellt: dem XI. Armee-Korps, 215. Infanterie-Division (60. Landwehr-Infanterie-Brigade).
• Garnison: Stab, I., II. Btl. aufgestellt in Erfurt und das III. Bataillon LIR71 aufgestellt in Gera.

Formationsgeschichte

Aus der 3. und 6. Kompanie des L.I.R.Nr. 60 und der 9. Komp. des L.I.R.Nr. 71 wurde das III. Bataillon des L.I.R.Nr. 60 (13. Ldw.-Div., 60. gem. Ldw.-Brig.).

Feldzüge, Gefechte, usw.

• Im 1. Weltkrieg unterstand das L.I.R.71 (ab 13.4.1915) der 13. Landwehr-Division und (ab 8.9.1916) der 215. Infanterie-Division.
